AIM award 2017



The AIM award for the best PHD thesis presented at the Montefiore Institute was given on 24 November 2017.

The 2017 winner is Quentin Gemine for his PHD thesis titled « Active Network Management for Electrical Distribution Systems ».

This award of 3500 euros was created in 2014. It emphasizes the societal aspect and industrial implications of the awarded thesis.




AIM is organising the next 2 CIRED events  ;

  • CIRED 2019 conference to be held in Madrid (Spain) on 3-6 June 2019. This conference is usually attended by approximately 2000 experts and professionals from the electricity distribution sector.

  • CIRED Workshop 2018 to be held in Ljubljana (Slovenia) on 7-8 June 2018. CIRED Workshops are held on alternate years between the main conferences.

The next CIRED conference is announced, we are going to Madrid (Spain) on 3-6 June 2019.


The preparations are underway. The AIM team is launching the promotion, the first step is our stand D01 at CIRED 2017 exhibition in Glasgow (UK).

Since our last general assembly (March 24, 2016), our association has welcomed a new general chairman, Didier Bassleer,  for a 4-year term.

He has been involved in our board of administration since 2002 and is now working as Engineering and Supply Chain Manager at CE+T Power.

He replaces Alain Belvaux who was our president from 2008.

Secretary General



During our last general assembly, an important function of our board of administration appointed. We welcome our new general secretary, Guy Lourtie, active in the board since 2004, who works for FANC (Federal Agency for Nuclear Control). He replaces Emil Galetic who was in charge of this function.
